Export hardware image as PNG file

You can open the icns files using the default macOS Preview app by double-clicking on them. After opening the icns file, you will see the image appear multiple times in the sidebar. The top image has the largest size 1024×1024 pixels decreasing to 72×72 pixels.

Select the first image, then click File ▸ Export in the menu bar. Use PNG as file type because the images have a transparent background, with JPEG this is lost. You can use the exported image in any app that allows the use of images.
