Finally you can change the buttons on an iPhone’s Lock screen! Since iOS 18 it is possible to replace the flashlight and camera with other controls. The buttons have been active on the lock screen since the iPhone X and can be changed after seven years.
With the arrival of the updated control panel, Apple has added the controls in several places. You can also link the control panel shortcuts to the action button on an iPhone 15 Pro (Max) or newer and on the lock screen.
Change lock screen buttons
- Place your finger on the Lock screen to start editing
- Choose ‘Customize’
- Tap ‘Access Screen’
- Delete the current shortcut, for example flashlight
- Tap the plus button
- Choose a controller
This way you can set different shortcuts per lock screen, handy! It is good to know that you can easily delete the camera shortcut. The Camera app opens immediately when you swipe left from the right side of the screen on the lock screen.
