You can make phone calls with an iPhone. This is not only possible via provider, but also via applications such as FaceTime and WhatsApp. You may have accidentally ended a call by pressing the side button on your iPhone, but with iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 you can prevent this.
When you have a conversation via your iPhone or iPad, it is possible to end it by pressing the side button, also known as the power button. You can disable this via the accessibility settings so that you can use the button.
Disable side button during phone call
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
- Navigate to ‘Accessibility’
- Tap ‘Touch’
- Enable the option ‘Prevent ‘Lock to stop call”

Once you enable the option, you can use the side button or power button to lock the iPhone or iPad during a phone or FaceTime call. If you disable the option, you can end the conversation via this button.
