Set, change and disable notifications on iPhone or iPad

Applications on the iPhone and iPad can use notifications, also called push notifications. These are small messages or warnings that alert you to new events, such as a new message, news article, tip, retweet and more.

You can personalize and manage the notifications per application. You can choose from different notification styles, as well as the places where a notification should appear. Of course, you can completely disable notifications for apps or only show them in the notification center.

Activate notifications iPhone or iPad

When installing an app, you are always asked whether the application can send you notifications. Naturally, this app must support notifications, the choice is saved on your iPhone or iPad. You can always adjust this at a later time.

Open Institutions and navigate to ‘Notifications‘ or Notification‘. At the top you will find settings that apply to all notifications. This way you can place them in a Scheduled overview, whether or not to show a preview and how notifications should be displayed when sharing a screen. You can also change the announcement of notifications and Siri suggestions.

You will also find a list of all applications on your iPhone or iPad that have the option to send you notifications. Unfortunately, it is not possible to enable or disable notifications for all applications, you must set this per application.

Finally, you can choose ‘List‘ then all notifications are shown one below the other on the lock screen.

Planned overview

If desired, you can use a planned overview. This notification overview contains all notifications that you do not want to receive immediately. The overview is organized by priority, with the most important notifications at the top.

Scheduled overview of notifications

When you enable this option and add an app, you will no longer receive the notifications directly, but in the overview.
