Since iOS 18, iPados 18 and macOS Sequoia you can use the password app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. With the help of this application you can easily manage your login details, passkeys, two-factor authentication codes and more. You can also manage the login details of different Wi -Fi networks.
When you connect to a new Wifin network, the login details are stored in the password app. This allows you to automatically connect to the Wifin network next time. We explain how you can manage the Wi-Fine networks and generate a QR code to have others connected.
Wifin networks in passwords
- Open the password app
- Navigate to ‘WiFi’
- Tap an item in the list
You will then see all kinds of information such as the way of security, network name and the possibility to show the password. You can also generate a QR code for the network from this display or delete it by choosing ‘Forget this network’.
Gain QR code for Wifin network
If you want to give someone else access to the Wifin network, this is possible with the help of a QR code. The person can then scan the code and connect automatically using the smartphone camera. The software will then automatically enter the login data and log in to the WiFine network.
- Open the password app
- Navigate to ‘WiFi’
- Tap an item in the list
- Choose ‘Toon QR code for network’
- Have the QR code scanned
The QR code includes a link to the Wifin network, name and password. The software of most smartphones and tablets can process the data and log in automatically to the network with the scanned data.
Share via AirDrop
In addition to a QR code, you can also share the login details via AirDrop. Open the password app and navigate to ‘WiFi’. Select an item in the list and tap the part button. You can then choose AirDrop or another part option.
