WhatsApp users can now add their e-mail address to their WhatsApp account to improve security. This e-mail address is used to give you access again when your WhatsApp account is blocked and you cannot complete the verification in two steps via your telephone number.
By adding your e-mail address, you prevent you from becoming excluded from your account and you make it harder for malicious parties to access your WhatsApp. It is therefore advisable to add an e-mail address to your WhatsApp account for this extra security.
Add e-mail address to WhatsApp account
- Open WhatsApp
- Navigate to ‘Settings’
- Go to ‘Account’
- Tap ‘e-mail address’
- Choose ‘Add e-mail’
