Samsung and Microsoft join forces to bring artificial intelligence to the largest screen in the house. From this year, new Samsung TVs and SmartMonitors will be supplied with standard Microsoft Copilot. This makes it possible to ask questions with your voice or a pressure on the remote control, to get suggestions or to search for information without grabbing your smartphone or laptop.

Copilot is deeply integrated in Samsung’s Tizen-Interface and is incorporated in Samsung Daily+ and the Click to Search function, among others. The AI assistant appears on the screen as a friendly, animated character and talks back to LIP sync and movements. Answers are clearly displayed in tickets with extra information, reviews or images – specially designed for large screens.

More than entertainment
According to Samsung and Microsoft, it’s not just about entertainment. For example, Copilot can also give spoiler-free summaries of series, do personalized film recommendations (“Something like The Queen’s Gambit, but shorter and about cooking”), or offer group-friendly suggestions when you look together. In addition, the assistant can give in -depth info, such as the name of a voice actor, or simply answer practical questions about the weather or your agenda.

Anyone who links a Microsoft account via a QR code can also benefit from personal preferences and memories, making the experience even more customized.

Existing services
Samsung emphasizes that this collaboration builds on its own Vision AI technology and existing services such as Bixby. According to Kevin Lee van Samsung, the collaboration with Microsoft ensures “a new standard in AI-controlled fencer experiences”. Microsofts David Washington even calls Copilot “an AI-companion in the living room” that makes it easy to discover, plan or just relax together.

The launch starts with Samsung’s 2025 models, including the Micro RGB, NEO QLED, OLED and The Frame (Pro) TVs, as well as the M7, M8 and M9 smart monitors. The service is available for free for owners of these models and will later be expanded to more markets and devices.
