Starting with iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2 and macOS 26.2, Apple has added a handy new feature to the Passwords app. In the app’s settings you can now manage websites for which you don’t want to save passwords when logging in. This gives users much more control over their password storage and makes it easier to undo previous choices.
Sometimes it may happen that a password is not saved in the Passwords app for iPhone, iPad or Mac. The reason may be that a website does not have access to passwords to store the data. We explain how you can check this.
Save login details in Passwords
When you log in to a website, you will normally be asked if you want to save the password and have it filled in automatically in the future. For sensitive accounts – such as banking websites, government portals or websites with special security requirements, you can consciously choose not to save the password. Apple saves this choice and won’t ask you if you want to keep the password the next time you sign in.

The problem, however, was that until now you didn’t have a good overview of which websites were on this ‘excluded’ list, and it was difficult to remove a website from this list if you changed your mind. This problem has been resolved with iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2 and macOS 26.2.
Manage excluded websites
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
- Navigate to ‘Apps’
- Go to ‘Passwords’
- Tap ‘Show excluded websites’

On a Mac you can access this via the Passwords app â–¸ Menu bar â–¸ Passwords â–¸ Settings â–¸ Show excluded websites.
You will now see an overview of all websites for which you have indicated that passwords should not be saved. On this screen you can remove websites from the list.
Password is saved again
After removing a website from the list, you will be asked again the next time you log in if you want to keep the password and have it filled in automatically. Choose ‘Save’ to save the login details in the Passwords app and sync them with all your devices.
