Apple has surprised everyone with invitations to a special event: the ‘Special Apple Experience’ on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. This event will take place simultaneously in New York, London and Shanghai, starting at 3:00 PM Dutch time. It is intended for a select group of invitees such as journalists and influencers.
The colorful invitation with a 3D Apple logo in yellow, green and blue indicates that there will be interactive demos instead of a regular Keynote presentation. New products are expected, such as an affordable MacBook with A18 Pro chip, new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, and perhaps even the iPhone 17e. An iPad Air with M4 is also expected and possibly a new entry-level iPad. We summarize the expectations for you.
Special Apple Experience on March 4
Apple has invited the media to a special event on March 4. This press moment could mark the start of a new series of Apple products for 2026. The presentation for the press starts at 3:00 PM Dutch time and will not be broadcast live. Apple is expected to post press releases on their website during this event to inform everyone about the new announcements.

New products or something different?
Given the special method of announcement, it is possible that it does not concern a traditional press presentation, but rather other news-related topics. Apple will celebrate its 50th anniversary on April 1, and there are rumors that Tim Cook may be considering leaving his position as Apple’s CEO. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what Apple has in store for us on March 4.
Expectations Special Apple Experience
There is a good chance that Apple will present new products during the special Apple Experience event, as there are a number of products that are waiting for follow-up. Below we explain the Apple products that may be unveiled during the event.
iPhone 17e

More and more rumors suggest that the iPhone XXe is here to stay. That is why Apple will unveil the successor to the 16th in the spring of 2026. This new model is expected to have an A19 chip, the C1X modem and the N1 network chip developed by Apple. Moreover, the notch would disappear and be replaced by a Dynamic Island.
New MacBook with iPhone chip
Thanks to reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has a new rumor made the rounds. According to him, Apple is working on a colorful MacBook with an iPhone chip. This would be the new entry-level model that will be cheaper than the MacBook Air.
It is best to compare this MacBook with the entry-level model of the iPad. This is also available in cheerful colors and has good, but outdated specifications.
MacBook Air with M5 chip

According to current rumors, we can expect new Mac computers with Apple’s latest M5 chip in 2026. Apple has already equipped the iPad Pro and entry-level MacBook Pro with the powerful processor and new Macs will be added in the coming year.
The MacBook Air is also expected to make the transition to M5. This would be the first time in years that all Mac computers will be equipped with the same series of processors. Besides a new processor, no other innovations are expected.
M5 Pro and M5 Max for MacBook Pro

The MacBook Pro has had the M5 chip since the end of last year, but the more expensive models still use the M4 Pro and M4 Max. This may change soon, as Apple plans to equip the MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro and M5 Max chip this spring. These chips are said to offer 15-25% faster CPU performance and up to 45% better GPU power than the M4 Pro/Max, making them ideal for tasks like video editing and 3D rendering. No other changes are expected, Apple wants to save those for the OLED MacBook Pro with M6 series later this year or early next year.
Other new products
Rumors are circulating that Apple will equip the iPad Air with an M4 chip next spring. The company is also considering possibly introducing the twelfth generation iPad, which would be the entry-level model for Apple’s tablet line. Don’t expect any major changes; this probably only concerns an upgrade of the processor and possibly new color variants.
