Manage AirDrop, Night Shift, Dark Mode and AirPlay via Control Center

Explanation for iPhone and iPad

The design of the control panel has been adjusted since iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. As a user, you have more options to make the control center better suit your way of working. This way you can adjust all the controls and place them in a different location.

The new control panel interface makes it even easier to access the controls you use often. The panel now consists of several pages with a separate place for music, home and network connections. Developers can also add shortcuts to the control center so you can perform even more tasks faster.

Standard control panel

You can fully customize the control panel on your iPhone and iPad by adding, moving, resizing, and even creating multiple pages to fit your workflow.

Manage AirDrop, Night Shift, Dark Mode and AirPlay via Control Center

Those who do not do this will fall back on the standard control panel with, among other things, quick access to settings, music and useful tools. We explain how you can also quickly access AirDrop, Night Shift, dark mode and AirPlay.

AirDrop and Personal Hotspot in the control center

  • Open the Control Panel
  • Place your finger on the panel with the WiFi option
  • Wait a few moments
  • The panel opens with additional options

You can now easily enable AirDrop and choose to which people you want to open this service. You can also enable or disable your personal hotspot this way.

Quickly activate Night Shift and Dark Mode

  • Open the Control Panel
  • Place your finger on the brightness slider switch
  • Wait a few moments
  • The switch opens with additional options

You can easily enable or disable Dark Mode, Night Shift and True Tone if available.

Use AirPlay from the control center

Do you want to use AirPlay to stream the screen, photos, videos or music to another device? Then you can do this quickly and easily from the Control Panel. When you open the Control Center you will see a sync display button (two overlapping rectangles). When you tap this you can choose an Apple TV to watch it full screen from your iPhone or iPad.

If you only want to stream photos, videos or music, you can activate this via the Control Panel. Under ‘Music’, tap the triangle with circles in the top right corner and choose your AirPlay device. You can read more information about AirPlay here.
