The Music app is probably one of the most used applications on your iPhone. Anyone can put on a song, but the music service has much more to offer. These tips will help you get the most out of Apple Music.
The 7 best Apple Music tips
Basically, Apple Music is very simple. However, there are also functions that you will not easily encounter, but that make listening easier and more fun. These are the best Apple Music tips in a row.
1. Create your own playlist
Almost every album has a few songs that you would rather skip. By making your own playlist, you no longer have to skip these songs and you only have your favorites. Creating a playlist in Apple Music is very easy:
- Open the Music app on your iPad or iPhone;
- Select ‘Library’ at the bottom and tap ‘Playlists’;
- Press ‘New playlist’ and enter the name of the playlist.

You can then add new music via the button at the bottom. You must first add albums, songs, playlists, and artists to your music library before you see them here. The collection can be expanded later by pressing the three dots at albums and songs and tapping on ‘Add to a playlist’.
2. Download songs and save data
Listening to music is fun, but you go through your internet bundle faster. If you often listen to certain albums or artists, it is therefore wiser to download the songs for offline use.
To do this, add songs to your iTunes music library by pressing the plus sign (+) next to an album, playlist, or song. When prompted to turn on the iTunes music library, press Agree, which will allow you to listen to your music on all Apple devices. Then press the download cloud to save the track (s) offline.

3. Delete downloaded songs in Apple Music
Is your storage full and can no more number be added? Then it’s time to say goodbye to a few songs. To delete songs in Apple Music, open the Settings app, choose Music, then choose Downloaded Music. Then press ‘Edit’ at the top right.

Press the red icon next to the song or album and tap ‘Delete’ on the right to permanently discard the audio. Of course you can always add and download the songs later. Do you want to be smarter with your downloads? Then turn on ‘Optimize storage’ in the Music menu, so that songs that you have not listened to for a long time automatically disappear.
4. The best sound
Each genre has its own sound. If you listen to a lot of electronic music, you probably value the bass more than a fan of acoustic guitar music. Fortunately, you can make sure that Apple Music always hits the right note.
To do this, open the Settings, go to ‘Music’ and choose ‘Equalizer’. Then select your favorite genre. Now Apple Music takes your music taste into account and automatically adjusts the settings accordingly.
5. Start the day with music
Nobody wants to start their day with an annoying alarm clock. It’s much more relaxing to wake up to your favorite music. This is how you start the day with your favorite song:
- Open the Clock app on your iPad or iPhone;
- Select the ‘Alarm’ tab at the bottom left and press the plus sign at the top right;
- Indicate what time you have to get out and tap ‘Sound’;
- Press ‘Choose a song’ and find your favorite track from the music library.

6. Start your own radio station
Do you have a nice song and are you looking for more songs like this? With Apple Music it is very easy to start your own radio station, so that you get more songs with the same sound.
To do this, go to an artist page or the song you are currently listening to, and press the three dots at the top right. Then tap on ‘Create station’ and the music starts. You can teach Apple Music your music taste by pressing the star while listening.
7. Listen to Apple Music in the browser
For a long time, you could only listen to Apple Music through iTunes. It is not a problem to install this program on your private computer, but it is on public PCs. Apple has therefore released a web version of Apple Music. That is how it works:
- Open an Apple Music page of an artist or album, for example ‘Ed Sheeran’, via this link;
- Log in with your account by clicking on ‘Log in’ at the top right;
- You can now listen to Apple Music through the browser.
The web version of Apple Music is limited. For example, the music stops when you search for another song, there is no music player on the screen and AirPlay is not supported.
