Do you continuously receive calls from unknown numbers? Then you can easily stop that from iOS 13. We show you how blocking anonymous numbers works with your iPhone.
Block anonymous numbers with your iPhone
If we look at our own experiences, in nine out of ten cases you are not waiting for people who try to reach you with an anonymous number. It is often advertising companies that want to sell you something or attempt phishing. As long as you have iOS 13 or later installed on your iPhone, you can avoid this in three steps.

This way you can block anonymous numbers
- Open Settings;
- Scroll down and tap on ‘Phone’;
- Set the switch behind ‘Silence unknown callers’ to green.
Once you flip this switch, anonymous callers will automatically be forwarded to your voicemail and appear in your recent calls history. That way you can decide for yourself whether and when you listen to the voicemail message and call back if necessary.
The feature does not affect anyone using a visible number or in your address book. That makes it a useful way to shut out the people you probably don’t need to talk to anyway.
