The best iOS apps of week 15 at a glance

The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. You don’t notice that much, however, because only a fraction of it is worth installing. If your iPhone can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.

Owy is one such app that does exactly what it should do. In the app you compile a list of all things you have borrowed, including people you have lent it to. For each item you have loaned you fill in three fields: the name, to whom you lent it and when you lent it. You can of course also use Owy for an overview of the things you have borrowed from others. Because the application is linked to your address book, you can easily send a message to someone who has forgotten to return something.

Dropbox Paper has gotten an offline mode. So you will soon be able to work on your documents without internet. Once you reconnect, the changes you made will be automatically uploaded to your Dropbox account. At the time of writing, the offline mode only works in the Dropbox Paper iOS app. The desktop version still needs to be online to work. The app now also supports the Dutch language.

Full of Stars is a story-driven iOS game set in space. After a great war, humanity tries to survive by settling all over the universe. As a spaceship captain, your job is to get people to a safe place. The gameplay is reminiscent of action games from the past, where you see a spaceship from above and have to tap left and right to move. You also follow conversations and you have to make difficult choices. The game is free to download, so give it a try.

It’s Easter weekend, so Niantic has organized another special Pokémon GO event. There are more different Pokémon hatching from 2KM Eggs, which you normally rarely encounter. Pichu for example, but also Misdreavus, Chansey and Aerodactyl can be found. Since you can never tell which monster is hiding inside an egg, you will have to wait for it to hatch to see which one you get. You also get extra Candy for every monster you hatch.

With services like LastPass and 1Password, there are plenty of apps that allow you to securely store passwords. Nevertheless, Vaulteq is unique in its kind, because all data is stored on Dutch servers. These are therefore protected by Dutch data legislation. The servers themselves are secure with two-step verification and so-called client side AES 256-bit encryption. The app runs on open source techniques as much as possible, which makes it easy for developers to check for security.

Hyperburner is the flashiest free App of the Week that Apple has chosen in a long time. In the game you crawl into the cockpit of a spaceship that has to guide you through all kinds of obstacle courses. You do breakthrough feats for this, but you do that for good reason: in this way you unlock increasingly better ships and new game modes. Especially the design makes the game worth playing. The bright neon colors splash off your iPhone and iPad, and the futuristic soundtrack is a perfect match for the fast speed at which you speed through the space colonies.
