Appie app gets shopping list of new functions

The Albert Heijn Appie app has been completely renewed. The improved design and layout should make it easier to find the right messages.

Albert Heijn renews Appie app

Now that ordering groceries online is slowly but surely gaining popularity, Albert Heijn is adapting its Appie app to it. As soon as you launch the app after updating, you will be greeted with confetti and streamers. The app has been renewed and that can be seen on the iPhone, but especially on the iPad.

From now on, the home screen is a collection of different functions. At the top of the screen, the Bonus offers pass by in a rotating carousel, with a recipe of the day and products that you can have delivered to your home for free.

With the search function or the menu you can then zoom in on a specific function of the app. For example, look at all Bonus offers, get inspired with a recipe or use the built-in self-scanner.

Later also self-scanning in Appie

By linking your account you will receive personal offers, you can order your groceries online and you can see under the heading ‘previously purchased’ which products you have recently purchased. In addition, Albert Heijn is working on a way to process the now separate AH Self-scanning app in the app. This process must be completed before the end of the year. Until then, you will have to use the separate iOS app if you want to scan the messages with your iPhone.
