Every week, Apple chooses an app from the huge selection of the App Store. This app is then offered for free for a week. This week, Apple selected Colossatron, which was secretly already available for free in the App Store. This game was created by Halfbrick Studios, the team behind the successful Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride games. Not the least.
Just like those games, Halfbrick has come up with another unique concept for Colossatron. The idea is that an evil monster wants to destroy humanity. Instead of having to destroy the beast, you can offer help.
The monster is a huge snake consisting of separate parts on which weapons are placed. You take parts from the environment and place them in the snake, so that the beast grows longer and stronger. Each part has its own color. For example, if you place three red parts in a row, an extra strong weapon is created. However, if you place different colors next to each other, that also has an effect.
There are countless combinations to make, so you have to think strategically. The game doesn’t feel as addictive as Jetpack Joyride and Fruit Ninja, but it is original. Since the game is completely free, you can at least give it a try. Don’t forget to play until the boss fights, because that’s when the game gets really interesting.
