The 4 best iOS apps in the App Store from week 33 – 2017

The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from last week here.

The best iOS apps at a glance

The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.

1. Unobstruct

More and more websites show bars to their readers with which you can immediately share an article via social media. These bars often hang at the top or bottom of the screen, and don’t go away when you scroll down.

Unobstruct offers relief in these situations, because this app ensures that these bars are not visible. Unobstruct has built-in support for a range of popular websites, but theoretically works for any site that is guilty of floating bars. To do this, open the app via the Share menu in Safari, after which the app will work on the website you have open.

2. Instagram

Instagram is rolling out a small but important update. In the latest version of the app, it is possible to respond to comments, after which they are bundled. This improvement ensures that conversations under photos are much clearer.

Previously it was already possible to respond to a comment, but this was then placed as a separate comment under the photo. As a result, there were hardly any conversations to be had. Especially when many people respond to a photo. That’s a shame, because Instagram was therefore a social network where conversations could only be conducted privately.

3. Tsuro

This week Apple is making the strategic board game Tsuro available for free as App of the Week. The idea of Tsuro is that you let your pawn travel as long as possible across the game board. You achieve this by placing cards on the board with routes on them. Your pawn will automatically follow the route shown on the map from its position on the board. The concept is simple, but there is a little more to it than it seems.

By making clever use of the cards that have already been placed on the table, by yourself or by others, your pawn will swing across the game board. Have you taken the longest route when all the cards are gone? Then you won. You make loops for extra points and you have to make sure you don’t slide off the board.

4. Data Wing

Data Wing was created by Dan Vogt, one of the founders of Halbrick. That’s the studio that previously delivered games like Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride. This is Vogt’s first solo project and it has turned out to be a very successful game.

What is the purpose in Data Wing? You control a triangular vehicle that sends you through dozens of levels. These consist of strips made of lines. By pressing the left side of the screen, you steer to the left. With the right you go to the right and press on both sides, then you brake.
