The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 9 (2018) here.
The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. Poster toaster
During the previous elections, the VPRO program presented the Tamagotchi-like app Kamergotchi, with which you had to take care of a politician. This year, ZML returns with the Poster Toaster, an app that allows you to create an election poster with your own head on it in an instant. In doing so, ZML is responding to the countless posters of local parties that hang throughout the country.
After answering all kinds of questions and taking a selfie, a randomly generated poster will appear on your screen, with your selfie including a matching political slogan. The app is filled to the brim with word jokes and references to existing parties, but (of course) never mentions them by name. To keep up with the election style, people can vote for the best posters. If you score the most likes with your poster after the elections, then you are the star of your municipality.

2. Vero
New social networks come and go, but rarely does one really succeed. Some start-ups do manage to reach their own niche, but no one will be as big as Twitter, for example. Nevertheless, a successful alternative is welcome, because there are many complaints about the existing platforms.
Vero is an attractive app with a focus on images. You do not post any text, but after pressing the plus you share, for example, a book you read, a movie you have seen or music that makes you enthusiastic. You can also post a location, link or photo. You can type text, but the focus is always the image.

3. Mazelith
Mazelith uses augmented reality to place puzzles in your environment. You can only solve these puzzles by walking around them. Mazelith is more of a concept than a full game, because you solve the puzzles in no time. Still, we recommend downloading it, because you must have seen this.
At the time of writing, the game only contains eight levels, which you have completed quickly. Fortunately, according to the developer, extra levels will be added soon, and the game will be further expanded.

4. Connect the Line
Connect the Line is a simple, yet challenging game built by one of our readers. The aim of the game is to tap the dots as quickly as possible while the screen scrolls up quickly. It is important to keep to the correct order, otherwise you are finished.
Connect the Line is simple, but it is addictive because of its simplicity. Especially when the lines open together, you have to pay close attention. Moreover, the app contains more than enough levels to keep you entertained for the time to come. It is nice that the app does not contain in-app purchases, but is completely free to play.

5. Declaration 2017
You can file a tax return in various ways. If nothing has changed in your economic situation in the past year, the Tax Return 2017 app from the Tax Authorities is the most convenient option. By logging in with DigiD, all your details are automatically pre-filled, which you only have to check and confirm. At the end of the tax return you will see how much you have to pay, or how much you will get back.
However, the app does not always provide a solution. The most limiting factor is probably whether you are an entrepreneur or not. Is this the case? Then you cannot use the app. It is great that you can now also confirm your identity on the iPhone X with Face ID.
