The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 11 (2018) here.
The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. AfterShip
It’s easier than ever to order things online. We no longer limit ourselves to Dutch web stores, because our clothing, books, games, etc. come from all over the world. It’s just not easy to keep track of all your orders. Orders are often sent via different companies and each company uses its own strange web interface to track the packages.
AfterShip has a very simple, but effective app. Just tap the plus sign, enter a number, specify a carrier if necessary and your shipment will be added to the list. In this list you can see per shipment what the latest updates are, who the carrier is and the contact information of that carrier. If there is an update about one of your shipments, you will receive a useful message about it.

2. Evoland 2
The first smartphone games are not much more compared to now. Mobile games have made huge strides, and the new game Evoland 2 is turning this into a big party. Evoland 2 takes you on a time journey through these different game styles and genres.
Just like the original, in this game you not only go through an adventure, but you also experience the transformation from classic pixel graphics to 3D games. This way you start the game in a recognizable green room that could have come from the first Game Boy. Here you get to know the main character, defeat some enemies and then you quickly end up in a larger area.

3. WeChat
WeChat is almost as popular as WhatsApp and has more than one billion users. Yet hardly anyone in the Netherlands knows it. High time to pay attention to this hugely popular app.
You can do much more than just chat and call with the app. For example, it is possible to pay in shops with your phone using WeChat Pay, and to order taxis. You can also request money back from friends when you have advanced something, as Tikkie does in the Netherlands. This is the reason behind the success: WeChat is not simply a chat app, but a fully-fledged platform.

4. Google Lens (Google Photos)
Google Lens was previously released for Android, but now the feature is also available on the iPhone. In the coming week, the Google Photos app will be equipped with the smart image recognition that Lens offers. Google Lens is a smart assistant that provides extra information with your photos. By Googles machine learning Lens can automatically recognize objects, texts or brands in your photos.
With Lens, Google Lens builds on Google Goggles, an app that Google already released in 2010. Your smartphone camera already used that app to recognize objects. In addition, Google Lens will eventually be integrated into the Google Assistant, so that you can ask questions not only with speech, but also with images.
