The 4 best iOS apps in the App Store from week 23 – 2018

The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps of week 23 (2018) here.

The best iOS apps at a glance

The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.

1. My Child Lebensborn

My Child Lebensborn is a whole different kind of game. This is a game that is more educational than fun. You adopt a Lebensborn child in Norway. Lebensborn children were born in the time of the Second World War to have more people with an Aryan appearance.

Because of this history, the children grow up with a lot of hatred, while they themselves cannot do anything about their origin. The game wants to show how the war still makes victims long after the end, while you simply try to take care of a child who is being bullied.

2. Step Two

On iPhoned, we have been recommending readers to secure online accounts with two-factor authentication for years. The problem with this is often that the apps you do this with are far from ideal. Step Two changes this. Good news, because with this extra (second) security step you make it a lot more difficult for an outsider to break into your account.

With iCloud support you can have the app synchronize between different devices. Handy if you switch to a new iPhone, and therefore do not have to enter all your codes manually. The advantage of this is that your codes can be on multiple devices, such as your iPhone and your iPad. At the same time, this is also a disadvantage, because it increases the chance that someone else will be able to see this data.

3. Disney Heroes: Battle Mode

It’s rare for Disney to bring all of its characters together, which is what makes Battle Mode so special. In this game you will find characters from Toy Story, The Incredibles, Zootopia, Pirates of the Caribbean and more. Disney Heroes is an RPG in which your characters fight against a new enemy in ‘Digital City’. The more you play, the stronger your heroes become.

At the moment there are already 25 characters to choose from, but new heroes are added regularly. Disney wants to promote Wreck-It Ralph 2 with the game, the film that will be in theaters from this fall. The game is free to download, but if you want to unlock some characters immediately, you will have to pay.

4. Hours

Hours is primarily aimed at freelancers and other people who need to accurately keep track of their hours worked. You can enter multiple ‘jobs’ with corresponding details, such as hourly wages, breaks and what time you clock in. In addition, you can indicate how much you will be paid for overtime, report locations and set reminders to clock out.

The minimalist-looking app goes much further in terms of options. The paid version provides, for example, a daily overview of your expected earnings, reminders to meet targets and the option to place a widget on your home screen. You can also lock the app extra by means of Touch ID and a backup via iCloud.
