The 4 best iOS apps in the App Store from week 35 – 2018

The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! In our opinion, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 35 here.

The best iOS apps at a glance

The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.

1. Kindle

The Kindle app introduces a new way of reading books. Thanks to an update, you can now scroll through books vertically, keeping your book running to the end. That sounds unclear, but it turns out to be the best way to read. Until now, the Kindle app tried to imitate reading a paper book. Just like on e-readers, you can read books in the app page by page.

By reading in this way, there is no pause between pages, but you stay in the story. If you are reading a non-fiction book, it is also much easier to skip parts that you do not find interesting.

You can easily scroll to the next paragraph or chapter. At the bottom of the screen you can still clearly see what percentage you have reached and within how much time you will probably have finished the book.

2. WeaterScout

The WeatherScout app was recently put in the App Store and is looking for your ideal outdoor photo opportunity. You set what weather conditions you want to photograph in, and the app sends you a notification when the time comes. You can set this for multiple locations, where you also see the current weather in addition to the alert.

It is also always possible to see the weather and photo conditions at your current location. This way you can see the weather, temperature and wind speed per location at a glance.

The nice thing about WeatherScout is that it only notifies you when the weather conditions are really the way you want. If the sunrise turns out to be nothing more than a gray sky full of clouds, you will not receive a notification.

3. Telegram

WhatsApp competitor Telegram has released an update that adds a number of useful features. Version 4.9.1, now in the App Store, first introduces the ability to export your chats. This allows you to keep all your conversations, including the media you’ve sent, in a different place. For the time being, this only works with the desktop version of Telegram.

In addition, Telegram now gives you even more control over the notifications that the iOS app sends. New are the so-called “Exceptions”, with which you can see which chats or persons are excluded from the general notification settings. This makes it easier, for example, to silence all contacts, except for a few people.

4. PayPal

PayPal has rolled out its new app in the App Store. The application is mainly simpler and more secure than before. Including a renewed home screen, where all your recent activity is. You can also see the money that is in your account on this screen and you can immediately send an amount to the people you most often transfer money to.

It is also now easier to add a photo and edit the contact list. In this way, the app helps assure users that the money is being sent to the right person. It’s easy to transfer money with the official PayPal app.

You only need the e-mail address of the recipient for this. Via the app you also keep track of all your transactions with your expenses during the webshop pen and more. It is not yet entirely clear when the updated app will roll out to the Netherlands. The rollout takes place in different phases.
