The 6 best iOS apps in the App Store from week 6 – 2019

The week is over and that means a fresh app overview is waiting for you! You should not miss out on these new apps, games and updates. The best iOS apps of week 6 can be found here.

The best iOS apps at a glance

The App Store is working overtime every week to process the endless stream of new apps and updates. However, you hardly notice this, because only a small part is worth installing. If your iPhone or iPad could use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.

1. YouTube Kids

The YouTube Kids app is now also available in the Netherlands. It is a modified, kid-friendly version of the video service. On the free service YouTube Kids you will almost only find videos that are safe and suitable for children. No horror movies or explicit content, but children’s music and sweet animations.

Parents can set a time limit for their children and block specific YouTube videos or channels. If you prefer to give your children a little more freedom, or if you don’t feel like selecting the right channels yourself, the app offers a standard profile for toddlers and preschoolers, and one for school-age children aged eight to twelve.

2. Flash Master

The popular Dutch navigation app Flitsmeister has received a nice update: thanks to CarPlay support, you can now also use the app on the screen of your car.
This means that all the functions of the iOS app have been transferred to the screen in your car.

This way you can of course navigate and you will receive warnings for speed cameras, a traffic jam or if an ambulance is on the way. These warnings differentiate the app from Apple Maps and Google Maps. You can install the CarPlay app by simply picking the latest update from the App Store. If your car supports CarPlay, you can then use the app via the screen in your dashboard.

3. Bacon – The Game

It’s not often that an iOS game can give you the giggles: but Bacon – The Game is a good candidate. The simplistic but bizarre game revolves around one thing: throwing bacon slices at the most diverse objects or people.

Throw bacon in cocktails and on fries, but also on Napoleon Bonaparte, a duck, inspiring quote or an index chart. Keep your laughing muscles in check: secretly, the game is not easy. The objects become increasingly difficult to cover with a slice of bacon that you try to hit with a pan.

4. WhatsApp

In the latest version of WhatsApp you can shield messages with your fingerprint or your face. Banking apps, among other things, can be secured like this for some time, and now you can also protect your messages in WhatsApp with Touch ID or Face ID.

When the feature is on, you can choose how often you should unlock the app in this way. You can choose from four options: immediately, after 1 minute, after 15 minutes or after an hour. This makes the app protected, even if your iPhone itself is already unlocked or someone knows your passcode.

5. Row Row

Row Row is a brand new iOS game where you row your way to the finish line while avoiding rapids, eddies, sharks, hippos and other obstacles. Are you stuck against a rock or on the side? Then you better start the level again, because the goal is to complete the course as quickly as possible.

You do this by simply tapping left and right to row and steer. The faster you are, the more stars you earn to play the levels in the next world. Plus, you can also play the game with friends. Make sure your friends have downloaded the app too, and add each other via usernames.

6. Netflix

Netflix will now automatically download episodes of the series you watch. Here’s how it works: once you’ve downloaded an episode, Smart Downloads will remove it and automatically get the next episode ready for you.

Smart Downloads only works over a Wi-Fi connection, so you don’t have to worry about consuming a lot of data in the background. The feature has been available for Android for a while, but it’s finally here for iOS users.
