The week is over and that means a fresh app overview is waiting for you! You should not miss out on these new apps, games and updates. The best iOS apps of week 10 can be found here.
The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store is working overtime every week to process the endless stream of new apps and updates. However, you hardly notice this, because only a small part is worth installing. If your iPhone or iPad could use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. IkPass
More and more people leave the drink for a while, for example in the new year. Back then it was already possible to participate in IkPas, but now the second IkPas challenge has started. The app helps you avoid beer, wine, or other alcoholic beverages for 40 days – during Lent between Ash Wednesday after Carnival and Easter.
For example, see how much money you have already saved and earn badges for surviving a drink, dinner or evening at the football canteen. You will also find recipes for non-alcoholic drinks and you can always consult a coach for some extra motivation.
2. Rolling Sky 2
The second part of the game Rolling Sky is a true feature film that you can play through. In beautiful graphics, it’s up to you to dodge obstacles at lightning speed and reach the end of the track.
In Rolling Sky 2 this mainly means that you run over a piano that is being played, but also, for example, through a ballet performance or a drafts or chess game. You simply play the game by swiping, but this is certainly not easy due to the high tempo. In addition, the game has a nice piano soundtrack, so turn on your sound.
3. Kind
Soor is a very nice replacement for the default Music app and imports all your albums, artists and songs from Apple Music. Soor was designed with the idea that you should always be able to put on a new song or album with one hand. For example, you can operate menus at the top of the screen by swiping down on the display.
Moreover, you don’t have to fiddle with different tabs, because Soor consists of one window. On this screen you will find your most played songs, albums and your entire catalog. You will therefore mainly scroll through the app, instead of tapping. This makes it a very user-friendly music player.
4. Google Assistant
The Google Assistant for iOS has received an update that allows Google’s voice assistant to work a bit better with your iPhone. As a competitor of Apple’s own Siri, this voice assistant is of course not built-in, and the user-friendliness must always be improved via updates. For example, it is now possible to view appointments and reminders from Apple apps on your personal updates page.
Previously it was only possible to sync your calendar with your Google account with which you are logged in in the Assistant app. Now you can use both the default Calendar app for your appointments, and ask the Google Assistant about your day’s schedule. Handy if you already use the voice assistant to control Google Home devices or a Chromecast, for example, and if you don’t have to separately address Siri for reminders.
