A bunch of crazy iOS games are coming out this summer. We look ahead with, among other things, Minecraft: Earth, two Mario games and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.

Summer is often a quiet period in the game industry. The big companies keep their games in to release them just before the holidays. That doesn’t work on iOS. Game makers increasingly want us to go outside to play their games and that includes nice weather. In addition, next summer will also have some surprises for those who stay at home. We have listed the coolest games: this is what you will be playing this summer.
1. Harry Potter: Wizards United
The makers of Pokémon GO hope that we will go outside again en masse with our smartphone. This time as a witch or wizard in the world of Harry Potter. The idea of ​​the game is familiar: you go out to collect items and carry out assignments, but this time everything is completely immersed in the well-known magical world.
The idea is that magical objects, monsters and other things have ended up in the world of the muggles. Therefore, witches and wizards must work together to protect their world. Of course you do that with spells, among other things. This is what Harry Potter: Wizards Unite looks like.

At the time of writing, a beta version of the game is already running in New Zealand and Australia. It can’t be long until the rest of the world is up, because the beautiful weather is just around the corner and maker Niantic wants to take advantage of that.
2. Mario Kart: Tour
After Super Mario Run, the most famous Nintendo character returns this summer in Mario Kart: Tour. Together with other Nintendo heroes, you have to race to the finish. The throttle is automatic this time, so all you have to do is steer, drift, pick up items like bananas and shields and use them.

3. Minecraft: Earth
Minecraft has been around for ten years now, so it’s time to expand the extremely popular game in new ways. That’s going to happen with Minecraft: Earth. Like Pokémon GO and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, this game is all about going outside.
There the emphasis is on building things. Before you make beautiful buildings, you must first collect the right objects. You can also go on an adventure with other players. It’s nice that in this game, unlike Niantic’s titles, the augmented reality elements are the same for everyone. This way you share the same world with each other. 4. dr. Mario World
Lovers of Dr. Mario knows that the mustachioed plumber in this game series doesn’t jump and runs through levels, but solves puzzles by spinning colored pills. dr. Mario World will be released on July 10 for iOS devices. The game is freemium and that means that you will soon download the game for free, but there are in-app purchases available.
5. Sky: Children of the Light
The new game from the creators behind the beautiful Flower and Journey is called Sky: Children of the Light. In the game, you travel together with other players through a mysterious world in search of its secrets. The creators will continue to expand this world so that you can experience more adventures.

6. Dead Cells
Dead Cells has proven itself extensively on PC and game consoles and now it’s smartphones’ turn. In this metroidvania rogue lite you enter a castle that is always changing. Are you going to die? Then you have to start all over again. This 2d game seems to fit great on smartphones. Do you have the perseverance to make it to the end?

7. Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls
The well-known Castlevania game series is making its way to smartphones with Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls. In the game, players find themselves in a future where Count Dracula has been defeated and peace has returned. However, that does not last long, because the villain threatens to be resurrected. The game looks like the Castlevania games from the past, but adds multiplayer so you can play with up to four players at the same time.

The game had a closed beta on iOS in May. A release can’t be long in coming.
8. Call of Duty: Mobile
The hit shooter series Call of Duty is making its way onto smartphones. The game consists of two parts. On the one hand, it is a multiplayer game where you compete against each other in different modes. In addition, the game gets an extensive battle royale mode, in which you have to be the last to remain.

When is the Call of Duty: Mobile release?
Call of Duty: Mobile is currently being tested in several countries. It is not yet known when the game will be playable for the rest of the world. However, summer is likely.
9. Gwent: The Witcher Card Game
Fan of the popular The Witcher games? In those role-playing games you can play the card game Gwent in bars, and now Gwent is coming to smartphones. In the game, you gather an army and compete against other players. You have to think tactically, because with the right cards the tide can be turned.
