The 4 Best iOS Apps in the App Store from Week 38 – 2019

Every sunday set iPhoned an overview of the best apps, games and updates ready. These are the best iOS apps from week 38 of 2019.

This week’s 4 best iOS apps

Every week, the App Store works overtime to accommodate all new apps, updates and games. You probably don’t notice this much, because most programs are not worth downloading. iPhoned therefore compiles a weekly overview of the best iOS apps, games and updates.

1. Google Maps

Good news for anyone who doesn’t use Apple Maps to navigate. From now on, both Waze and Google Maps finally have Siri support. This way you can use the assistant as your personal travel aid.

Now that iOS 13 is officially available, Waze and Google Maps are not giving up on taking advantage of the new capabilities. Once you have installed the update on your iPhone and installed the most recent version of the two navigation apps, you can use Siri from now on.

2. Exit the Gungeon

Apple Arcade officially came out this week. With a free trial you can play more than 100 exclusive games on your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. An excellent example of the huge offering is Exit the Gungeon, the sequel to the popular indie game Enter the Gungeon.

In this it is up to you to escape from a dark dungeon filled with all kinds of guns, monsters and obstacles. The graphic style perfectly transitions from the game console to iOS, with bright colors and comic characters that give the game a cheerful appearance. Ideal to make a boring train ride a lot more entertaining and pretty tricky if you’re trying to survive as long as possible.

3. Pocket Casts

Pocket Casts has been one of our favorite podcast listening apps for years. From now on, the program can be downloaded for free. The separate purchase price (was 2.99 euros) makes way for a subscription: Pocket Casts Plus. This service costs 0.99 euros per month, or 10.99 euros per year.

Plus users can access 10GB of cloud storage for podcast storage, personalize the app with different themes, and set other app icons. It is also possible to upload audio yourself, after which Pocket Casts automatically cuts out the silences.

4. Join us

There is a new app from Dutch origin that makes it a lot easier to organize things with large groups. You create an event, invite your teammates/colleagues/friends and can see at a glance who is or is not present at a meeting.

The app is therefore especially useful for sports teams and companies, because you do not always have to send manual invitations. Moreover, Erbij has a web version, so that you can also invite people from your Mac. The app makes money through donations.
