It’s Sunday again and that means a fresh app overview is ready for you! We don’t think you should miss these new apps, games and updates. These are this week’s best iOS apps.
This week’s 4 best iOS apps
The App Store is working overtime every week to accommodate all new apps, updates and games. You probably don’t notice this much, because most apps are not worth downloading. iPhoned takes you by the hand and highlights this week’s best, most interesting, and funniest iOS apps.
1. Bunq
Both ABN AMRO, Rabobank and Bunq have announced Apple Pay support. Bunq customers can already set up the payment service, but users of ABN AMRO and Rabobank have to wait a little longer.
After ING became the first Dutch bank to support Apple Pay, it went quiet for a while. ABN AMRO, Bunq and Rabobank broke this silence last week with the announcement that Apple Pay is coming soon. Check our article to read how to link a Bunq debit card to the Wallet app.
2. Widower’s Sky
When you combine elements of a platformer, puzzle and survival game you get Widower’s Sky. In this top-down game, you follow the journey of a father and son who search for a new home after the death of their daughter and mother. Like a book, the story is divided into chapters.
As you make your way through the endearing world, you find out exactly what happened. The epic reaches its climax when the two storylines, which are central to the game, come together. Widower’s Sky was released in July, but has had a major update last week, making the game much more playable.
3.Friends 25
“How you doin’?”. This year, the iconic comedy series Friends is celebrating its 25th anniversary and a special app has been released in its honor. Early-stage fans can test their knowledge with a trivia quiz to find out how much they actually know about Rachel, Joey, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe or Ross.
In addition, the free app is packed with other features, including an ar filter. This allows you to add funny stickers to photos, for example by placing Monica on your shoulder. The app also has a real cookbook, so you can copy the recipes from the series yourself.
4. Gmail
Gmail got a small but important update this week. From now on you can block external images in emails. This makes it a lot more difficult for companies that want to follow you in this way. Some websites add bits of code to images so that they can see if you have opened the email.
As soon as you have turned on the new function, you will first be asked for permission to show images. The blocker can be turned on via the settings menu on the right. For now, the new feature can only be used in combination with personal Gmail accounts.
