The 5 Best iOS Apps in the App Store from Week 46 – 2019

The new week is just around the corner, but before that, let’s take a look back at the past seven days. The editors of iPhoned has rounded up the best iOS apps, games and updates from last week.

Last week’s 5 best iOS apps

The App Store is working overtime every week. New apps, updates for existing programs and games are added all the time. You probably don’t notice this much, because most programs are not worth downloading. iPhoned therefore separate the wheat from the chaff every Sunday: these are the best iOS apps of the past week.

1. Grasshopper

Did you know that there are apps that allow you to learn programming? Grasshopper is a good app to master this skill. Step by step you will learn all the basic skills for coding and build your own website or app in no time. And it’s more fun than you think!

A grasshopper takes you through several programming lessons. In the overview you see a field with blue sky where the questions are. With a correctly answered question you ‘jump’ a little higher into the air. You must first answer all questions in a lesson before you can move on to the next lesson. Then you start again at the bottom.

2. DigiD app

The DigiD app for iOS has been given a handy feature since this week. From now on it is possible to perform ID check with the app, using the nfc chip in your iPhone.

You can confirm your identity with various organizations via DigiD. If you install the latest version (5.12.2) of the DigiD app, you can scan your passport, identity card or driving license (issued after November 14, 2014). The NFC chip in your iPhone is used for this, which also ensures that you can pay with your iPhone via Apple Pay. If you have performed the ID check, the DigiD app is suitable for viewing a medical file, for example.

3. Lidl Plus

Supermarket chain Lidl has recently released an app. In the app you create an account and link to a Lidl supermarket near you. Here you will find all offers of the week in addition to the Lidl Plus card. But the best thing about the app is that it has all kinds of extra deals that you won’t find in the store.

The discount works very easily. Activate all coupons you want to use. Take the products with you to the checkout. When you pay, have your Lidl Plus card scanned and the discount of the activated coupons will be automatically deducted. Didn’t want to activate a coupon? Then you can just as easily deactivate it again by tapping the ‘activated’ button again.

4. Last Day on Earth: Survival

The shooter game Last Day on Earth has received a major update. In a post-apocalyptic world, humanity is nearly extinct due to a contagious virus. Well… they have become zombies. The last survivors try to keep themselves alive among the ruins of a world that was once so beautiful.

Try to survive by finding food and drink, making weapons from what you can find. You will need those weapons badly, because you still have to defeat a lot of zombies with them. Get creative and build traps or steal supplies from other survivors. The world is huge so there is plenty to do!

5. Whipseey and the Lost Atlas

If you’re in the mood for a cool nostalgic game, look no further. In Whipseey and the Lost Atlas, a boy in a magical book is sucked into Whipseeyland and transforms into a tiny pink creature with a whip for a tail.

In this Kirby-esque game, all your gameboy dreams come true and with the help of Princess Alyssa, you go into the dangerous, pixel-like world full of obstacles in search of a way back home.
