The new week is just around the corner, but before that, let’s take a look back at the last seven days. The editors of iPhoned has rounded up the best iOS apps, games and updates from last week.
Last week’s 5 best iOS apps
Apple’s App Store is working overtime every week. New apps, updates to existing applications and games appear all the time. You probably don’t notice this much, because most of the programs are not worth downloading. iPhoned therefore separate the wheat from the chaff every Sunday. Here are the best iOS apps, updates, and games from last week.
1. Company of Heroes
This week, Company of Heroes launched for iOS. The game has been popular for years, and now fans can download it on their iPhone as well. The WWII game is all about strategy. The makers have completely optimized Company of Heroes for the iPhone, making operation fast and intuitive.
In the game you get control of two US military units. You start on D-day of the Normandy Invasion. You fight the opposition to liberate France. The app is quite expensive, but you do get a top game in return if you are a lover of strategy games.
2. A Monster’s Expedition
Apple Arcade puzzlers can indulge themselves: the new puzzle game A Monster’s Expedition was released this week. In the cute open world you go on a journey of discovery on various exotic islands.
By pushing tree trunks you can walk from one island to another. If it goes wrong have to go back and try again. Along the way you will find all kinds of small museum exhibits that teach you about the sometimes silly humanity that has now perished.
3. The Correspondent
News medium De Correspondent launched its own app this week. On it, members listen to podcasts and audio stories, read by the correspondents who read their own big stories.

The nice thing about the app is that it immediately offers a platform to share your knowledge and experiences. You can also ask questions to the correspondent. This is possible when you are listening to a story. Read more about it in our review.
4. Young&Out
There is now an app especially for young people up to the age of 18 who want to chat about their sexual orientation or gender identity. Jong&Out was developed by the COC, with the aim of creating a safe environment where LGBTI young people can come into contact with each other.

In the app you can meet new people, stay informed about what your friends are doing and meet up with (new) friends. Jong&Out has been offering a platform for LGBTI young people for years, and the app is a handy way to get acquainted with this.
