The new week is just around the corner, but before that, let’s take a look back at the last seven days. The editors of iPhoned has rounded up the best iOS apps, games and updates from last week.
Last week’s best iPhone apps
The Apple App Store is working overtime every week. New apps, updates to existing applications and games appear all the time. You probably don’t notice this much, because most of the programs are not worth downloading. iPhoned therefore separates the wheat from the chaff every Sunday. Here are the best iOS apps, updates, and games from last week.
1. Signal
Alternative chat apps Signal and Telegram take full advantage of the unrest surrounding WhatsApp and add millions of new users every week. New functions are continuously added to facilitate this influx. In Signal, for example, since last week you can set conversation backgrounds and get started with animated stickers. You can also create your own moving pictures via the computer version of Signal.
2. Telegram
Telegram released an update last week to transfer entire WhatsApp conversations to the chat app. That’s great, because that way you can switch more easily. In the article below we explain how to export WhatsApp conversations to Telegram.
Tip: Transfer WhatsApp conversations to Telegram
3. Carrot Weather
Version 5.0 of Carrot Weather has been available since last week. This weather app is known for its sarcastic undertone and can now be designed completely according to your own wishes. The start screen, which includes the current weather conditions, is being completely overhauled.

At least, if you choose this. In the settings you can adjust almost all parts of the start screen. Also new: the button navigation at the bottom of the screen. Carrot Weather has also added maps that provide additional information about the weather conditions, such as the amount of rain forecast.
4. Micetopia
Micetopia is a Metroidvania-like game in which you take on the role of an adventurous mouse. The gameplay consists mainly of fighting, jumping and discovering the world of Micetopia. While defeating enemies, you gain new skills and become stronger and stronger.
The story of Micetopia is quite cliché. The once peaceful world has been taken over by all sorts of bad guys and it’s up to you to take on the noble task of eliminating evil. However, Micetopia plays wonderfully, is just challenging enough and also looks very nice.
5. Ammo Pigs
Are you in the mood for mindless entertainment? Then you have to be at Ammo Pigs. The third part of this series came out last week and once again you pick up your weapons to fight against evil robots. Moreover, this time you have a mission, because you have to save the last remaining chickens.

Indeed, Ammo Pigs has an insane story laced with humor. The gameplay is also rock solid. The action is very fast, you have to react immediately to danger and tactically dodge attacks from enemies. Furthermore, Ammo Pigs has a cool retro design with a matching soundtrack. It is therefore a wonderful action game to play in between.
