The 4 best iPhone apps and games of the week

Before the new week starts, let’s take a look back at the past few days. The iPhonededitors have rounded up this week’s best iPhone apps, games, and updates for you.

Last week’s best iPhone apps and games

The App Store is working overtime every week. New apps, updates to existing programs and all kinds of games are popping up all the time. You will probably not notice this much, because most of it is not worth downloading. Every Sunday separates iPhoned therefore the wheat chaff. Here are the best iPhone apps, updates, and games from last week.

1. TikTok

TikTok released two features last week to combat cyberbullying, including a ‘bullying filter’. It checks new comments on videos for potentially offensive words, insults, or other unkind content. Before the comment is posted, TikTok asks if you really want to post this comment.

Furthermore, the immensely popular app has added an option that allows video makers to determine for themselves which reactions appear under their videos. Once this option is enabled, only comments that have been approved by the creator will appear.

2. Fastival

Have you gained weight in the past year? You’re not the only one. Coronakilo’s has now become a household name: many people started eating more solid last year, for example against stress. It does not help that gyms remained largely closed.

Fastival tries to get you back on track. The app teaches its users everything about intermittent fasting. Here you eat what you would normally eat, but in a shorter time frame. For example, many fasters choose not to eat for 18 hours a day, and for 6 hours. For example, you can use intermittent fasting to lose weight.

3. Multifly

Multifly proves that math is anything but boring. The game is aimed at children and explains everything about addition, subtraction and multiplication in a fun way. Multifly is very visual and explains concepts directly. For example, if you throw a “x 10” on an object, the object grows ten times.

Central to the game is Logik, a kind of alien who wants to return to the world he came from. You have to help him with that by solving mathematical puzzles. There are over 50 levels in Multifly and although the game is in English, kids can pick up the concepts.

4. WidgetPod

Since iOS 14, you can place widgets on your iPhone’s home screen. Unfortunately, not all widgets are equally good. For example, the default music widget can’t let you know what song you’re currently playing. WidgetPod solves this problem.

This widget app works with Apple Music and Spotify and shows you what you are currently listening to. You can also rewind or fast forward a song. When you first start the app you can choose a dark, light or custom theme and you can determine the size of the widget yourself.
