Would you like to test the latest features of WhatsApp first? Then sign up as a beta tester. This can be done very easily via these two steps.
What are beta apps in the Google Play Store?
Beta apps are newer and more experimental versions of existing apps. It is therefore possible that these apps work less well than the existing apps, after all, they are test versions. For example, the beta app may crash or certain features may not work properly. If you like to take that risk for granted, you have the advantage that you can test the latest functions first.

Join WhatsApp Beta
WhatsApp also has a beta version in which new functions are tested, which will only become available to everyone (much) later. If you want to get started with this test version, you can sign up for the beta program. Unfortunately, for some apps, a limited number of users can participate. The same goes for WhatsApp’s beta program. This program is often full, and new spots are only released if current testers leave the program or if the developer allows more users. Fortunately, there is an app that notifies you when a spot in an app’s beta program becomes available. You can find that app here.
If you then receive a signal that there is a place for the WhatsApp Beta, you can register as a beta tester as follows:
1. Go to this page of the Play Store and make sure you’re signed in with your Google account.
2. Click on ‘Become a Tester’
3. Done!
All new updates of this test version of WhatsApp are then automatically distributed via the Play Store, just like with the ‘regular’ app. You can unsubscribe from the test via the same page and then click on leave the program.
