Amazon has released a new video doorbell under the Blink brand name. It is a wireless version with an extra long battery life, but you can also connect it wired. It is for sale from 59.99 euros.

In 2017, Blink, a manufacturer of smart cameras, became part of Amazon. In the Netherlands, Blink launched the Blink Mini camera, among other things, but now a video doorbell is also on the way. The Blink Video Doorbell works wirelessly and can last up to two years with its AA batteries. Although you can also connect this doorbell wired to have a doorbell sound sound through your house.
Blink’s Video Doorbell takes images in 1080p resolution, and that works both during the night and during the day. When motion is detected, you will receive a notification on your phone in the Blink app. If someone is at the door, you can have a chat via that app on your phone – and the speaker and microphone in the doorbell.
The images that your video doorbell makes can be stored in the cloud for 30 days thanks to a Blink subscription. You pay 3 euros per month or 30 euros per year. An alternative is to save them locally with the Blink Sync Module 2, and then your images will be saved locally automatically.
Prices and availability
The Blink Video Doorbell costs 59.99 euros, but it is not yet known when it will be available. You must go through the Amazon site sign up for availability updates. The BlinkSync Module 2 will be released in 2022 and costs 34.99 euros.
