Remove app from iPhone and iPad

Nice all those apps for the iPad or iPhone. But how do you get them off the device if the apps fail?

To remove an app from iPad or iPhones running iOS 14 and iPadOS 14:

  • Tap and hold an app until a menu appears.
  • Tap on Delete app.
  • Tap on Deleteapp if you want to remove the app completely from the device. Tap on Remove from home screen if you still want to access the app through the App Library (available on iPad from iPadOS 15).

Here’s how to remove an app from iPad or iPhones running iOS 13:

  • Tap and hold an app until all apps move.
  • A menu will appear. Tap here Rearrange apps.
  • Tap the cross next to the app you want to remove.
  • You will be asked to confirm the deletion. Tap on Delete.
  • Press the Home button (the physical button embedded in the bezel) or tap Ready (iPhone X, iPhone Xs, iPhone 11 and iPad Pro).

Some apps belong to the iPad or iPhone. Some do not get a cross in the top left corner and cannot be deleted.
