Dark background in apps Windows

Give default apps in Windows a dark background. That can be calmer for the eyes.

The background of most default apps in Windows is white. That can be a bit bright and even hurt the eyes. Set a dark background for apps like the calculator like this:

  • Click the Start button in the Taskbar.
  • click on Institutions (the gear icon).
  • click on Personal settings.
  • click on Colors.
  • Click on the drop-down menu under the ‘Choose a default app mode’ option.
  • click on Dark.
  • The Settings background immediately turns black.
  • Click on the cross in the top right to close the Settings.

Prefer a white background color? Follow the steps above, but then click on “Choose a default app mode” light.
