Restore Wi-Fi connection in Windows

Does the WiFi connection drop on the Windows computer? Then try to restore the wireless connection in three ways.

The connection to the Internet can be lost for various reasons. The cause is not always at home. There may be a malfunction with the provider. Usually on the provider’s site or on the site Allestoringen.nl whether there is a malfunction or . For example, you can access the sites via a mobile internet connection

There are three things you can try if the Wi-Fi connection drops. The most obvious is to restart the computer once. It is also wise to check whether the router (the box that you received from your provider, often equal to the modem) works. Are not all the lights on? Turn off the router, unplug the power for 30 seconds, and then turn the router on again. Then see if the connection works again. You can of course also try this if all the lights are on. If these methods don’t work and there is no outage with the carrier, try the following:

  • Look in the System Tray for the Wi-Fi connection icon Wifi icon. If you don’t see this icon, first click on the icon for ‘Show hidden icons’ Icon: hide.
  • If there are problems with the Wi-Fi connection, the icon may look like this: Wifi is not working. An icon with a red cross through it or a globe is also possible. That means there is no connection to WiFi. Then right click on this icon.
  • In Windows 10, click Resolving problems. In Windows 11, click Network and Internet Settings > Resolving problems.
  • Follow the steps indicated.

It is often possible to restore the connection in this way. Is that not possible and your wireless connection does not continue to work? Please contact the provider’s helpdesk.
