It should come as no surprise that bookmarks are a handy addition to your browser. It is always nice to have a list of your favorite websites at hand. But why add websites to your bookmark folders one by one, when you can do it all at once?
Bookmarks, Bookmarks and Favorites
Chances are you’ve been using the feature for a long time, but let’s start at the beginning. Bookmarks (in Chrome), Bookmarks (in Firefox), and Favorites (in Edge) are shortcuts to your favorite websites, which appear in a bar below your address bar. This way you can quickly go to a certain website, without having to type in difficult URLs or search for ages in your browsing history.
You can add bookmarks in Chrome by clicking the asterisk at the far right of the address bar and clicking add bookmark to click. You can also use the shortcut Ctrl+D use. The same applies in Firefox and Edge, only they are called bookmarks and Favorites.
Create bookmark folder from open websites
With all that working from home, you may find that you use your browser for different purposes at different times. In such a case, one minute you might want to access your work email, the intranet, and some work-related websites, and the next, some news websites, the weather, and your favorite recipe site. Of course you can drag them one by one into a folder, but you can also add them all at once.
Make sure you have all the tabs open that you want to open by default, and right-click on an empty spot in the tab bar. Select Bookmark all tabs, and in the next window choose which folder you want your bookmarks to be in, or create a new folder within the root folder. Now all your frequently used bookmarks are in one clear folder.
Edge works exactly the same way, only the button there is called Add open pages to favorites. In Firefox you have to make an extra intermediate step: first click on Select all tabs and then on Bookmark Selected Tabs.
Open all bookmarks
Have you made a few handy folders for every moment of the day? Right click on the folder and select Open all (Chrome), Open all bookmarks (Firefox) or Open all (Edge). Can’t see your bookmark bar at all? Then is Ctrl+Shift+B the shortcut for all browsers to toggle it on and off.
