In Spotify there is no standard function with which you can easily combine two playlists into one. However, you can do it using the desktop version and you will also find those merged playlists on your smartphone. We explain how it works.
Merge Spotify playlists
You know that feeling when you’ve found a fun playlist, but it’s only pretty short? In that case it can be nice to combine it with a second list. Unfortunately, there is no convenient method to bring the playlists together in the app. It works relatively easily on the desktop app because you can easily copy and paste songs into playlists. We explain it step by step.
If you already have the desktop app on your computer with Windows or macOS, you can immediately start with step 4. In this step-by-step plan we show how you can combine the songs from two playlists into a new playlist, but you can also add one list to an already existing playlist. If you wish, choose one of your own playlists in step 8.
Roadmap
- Go to your desktop to this webpage and click the download for Windows or macOS
- Choose To download
- Start the software and once Spotify is installed you can log in.
- Find and open the first playlist to see all the songs
- Busy CTRL + A (Windows) or COMMAND + A (macOS)
- Right click on the selected songs
- Choose Add to playlist
- Add to new playlist. Pay attention: the new playlist is given the name of the first song from the list by default, you can change that later
- Now take the second playlist where you want to get songs
- Busy CTRL + A (Windows) or COMMAND + A (macOS)
- Choose Add to playlist
- Select the playlist you just created. He has the name of the first song from the first list

If you want to achieve the same effect in the app, you have to manually add each individual song from each list to the new list. That’s a lot of work.
