Harry Coehorst
Harrie Coehorst is a photographer from Goirle. As a lover of both urbex photography and street photography, he travels a lot and prefers to shoot in black and white. He says about this: “I am also a member of the photo club FC Optiek Goirle, which attaches great importance to black and white photography.”
Talking about the winning photo, Harrie explains: “I took the photo in Antwerp at a passage under the railway. The image is interesting in my opinion because of the composition and the fact that people pass by, both on foot and on bicycle. I converted the photo to black and white to give it an amplifying effect.”
As the winner of the National Award, Harrie will receive the latest digital imaging equipment from Sony and his work will be part of the exhibition and book of the Sony World Photography Awards. Commenting on his win, he said: “A fascinating photo starts with good thought.”

The winners of the competition in the Student, Youth, Professional and Open categories of the Sony World Photography Awards 2022 will be announced on April 12, 2022. They will be part of the exhibition at Somerset House, London (13 April-2 May 2022). Learn more about the winners and shortlists at www.worldphoto.org
