Nokia has launched two devices in the lowest price segment with its G21 and G11. The phones stand out with their 5,050 mAh battery with which they should survive three days after a single charge. The G21 is for sale from 199 euros in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Nokia G21 and G11
HMD Global, the Nokia smartphone company, presents its newest members in the low price segment. They are successors to the Nokia G20 and G10 that were not released on our market last year. The new Nokia G21 and G11 focus on the basic elements that consumers look for in a smartphone. They have therefore been awarded a large 5,050 and in combination with new battery saving software they should be able to run for three days.
3 days without charging
Nokia talks about two different battery saving modes. The first level of battery saver now imposes less restrictive rules on apps, allowing it to take effect faster, at 20 percent capacity remaining instead of 10 percent. When you reach 10 percent, the second level of energy savings kicks in, which does impose stricter rules for apps. Furthermore, the devices have a 10W charger in the box, although it is actually capable of charging with 18W.
The Nokia G21 and G11 got a housing made entirely of plastic. There is space on the housing for a 3.5 mm audio jack, a microSD slot and a fingerprint scanner on the side. The screen of the phones is a 6.5 inch LCD panel with an HD resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a 90 Hz refresh rate.
Android 11 and performance
In terms of performance, we see important differences between the two budget models. The G11 comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the G21 comes with a much more generous 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Both appear with a 1.6 GHz Unisoc T606 chipset that only supports 4G. Only the G21 has NFC support. The phones are both still running on Android 11 and will receive two version updates and three years of security patches.

There are even more differences when it comes to the cameras. The G21 works with a 50MP main sensor which is accompanied by a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth camera. With the G11, the 50 MP sensor is exchanged for an 8 MP one. On the front is an 8 MP selfie camera.
Plant 10 trees
HMD Global says the new Nokia G phones have a sturdy housing and it also makes sustainable choices in terms of software support. Whoever buys the phones also gets the chance to give something back to the planet. People who buy a Nokia G11 or Nokia G21 can have 10 trees planted via the Ecolog platform.
HMD Global is committed to facilitating the planting of 1,000,000 trees. This equates to 308,000 tons less CO2 emissions in 25 years, which is equivalent to more than 700 million kilometers driven by car or 37,465,935,100 charged smartphones.
