You will soon be able to use your WhatsApp account on multiple smartphones. By registering your smartphone as a Companion Device, you will soon be able to app on another smartphone or tablet.
The developers of WhatsApp have not been sitting still, especially in recent weeks. It became clear that the app developers are working on a new camera interface and that we can expect emoji reactions and communities. The new features were discovered by Wabetainfo.comâ€
Link New Mobile Device
The upcoming new feature that WhatsApp developers are now conjuring up is called ‘Link New Mobile Device’. The name actually says it all. With this you link your existing WhatsApp account to an extra smartphone or to a tablet. You can then send messages with your other smartphone via the app. A bit similar to WhatsApp Desktop or WhatsApp in the browser.
Linking is also done in a similar way. With your second smartphone, you scan a QR code that is displayed on the screen of your main device. The WhatsApp data is then synchronized so that you can use WhatsApp on your tablet or second smartphone (for example, your work device).
The feature works on both iOS and Android devices and is already available for some beta users to try. At the time of writing, it is still unclear when the option to app on multiple smartphones and tablets will become available to everyone.
