Every month there are countless new Netflix movies and Netflix series. It is difficult to keep up with all of them, so we would like to list the best movies and series that are new on Netflix. Here’s what’s new on Netflix in July!
persuasion
Netflix comes with a remake of one of England’s greatest classics: Persuasion after the book of the same name by Jane Austen. In this version, Dakota Johnson stars as Anne Elliot, who is persuaded at a young age not to marry a poor soldier who is the love of her life. What follows are years of longing and the ever-slumbering sense of having missed out on something. Can the two lovers still find each other?
How to Change Your Mind
Scientists have been experimenting with this for years: the effect of different drugs on the brain. In some cases, these agents are used as a trial for the treatment of, for example, mental disorders. However, there is still a great stigma attached to the use of drugs in the medical (and recreational) sense.
That’s what this documentary goes into further. The history of psychedelics is examined in this section, including LSD, psilocybin and MDMA. In the documentary, actor Michael Pollan takes the lead. He previously wrote a book of the same name on the subject.
The Gray Man
It’s never a good thing if you, as a CIA agent, hang out the organization’s dirty laundry. That’s exactly what happens in The Gray Man. The agent known as Sierra Six then, after uncovering some of the CIA’s dark secrets, becomes target number one.
This exciting thriller features a large star cast such as Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas and Billy Bob Thornton. And a fun fact: with a production budget of $200 million, this is the most expensive Netflix Original movie ever made.
D.B. Cooper: Where Are You?!
One of America’s greatest mysteries is featured in this documentary. DB Cooper jumped out of a plane with a bag of stolen money in the 1970s and no one has ever seen him again. Who he actually was, and where he resides today, is still a mystery to many people. This documentary takes a closer look at the mystery and the information known since his crime and disappearance.
