Few things are more annoying than a dead battery. You therefore want to prevent this at all times, so it is useful to know what percentage of battery you have left. Fortunately, there are several ways to make the battery percentage visible on your iPhone 13 and older devices.
The way you make the battery percentage visible depends on your iPhone. There are two variants. One for the devices with a notch and one for the devices without a notch. Let’s start with the devices that don’t have a notch on the top yet.
Make the battery percentage visible on an iPhone without a notch
If you are using the iPhone SE (2020 or 2022), iPhone 8 or an older model, you can turn on the battery percentage in the setting. For this you go to ‘Settings’ † ‘Battery’ and switch you ‘Battery percentage’ in. You can then see the percentage of battery remaining in the top right corner of the screen.
This also works if you want to view the battery percentage of your iPad or iPod touch. For these devices and the aforementioned iPhone models, the battery percentage is always visible when you put the device in energy-saving mode.

If you have an iPhone with a notch and you want to see what percentage of battery you have left, it works slightly differently. To see the battery percentage, you don’t have to go to the settings first, but you have to perform a simple action.
You can see the percentage of battery remaining in the control panel. To make it visible, just swipe down from the top right corner of the screen. Then the battery percentage appears at the top right of the screen. You can do this from your home screen and from the lock screen.

Another way to see how many percent battery you have left
Is the above way not what you were hoping for? Then don’t worry, because there are also two other ways to make your battery percentage visible. The first is by using Siri. Ask “what is my battery percentage” and Siri will answer this question for you. Both for your iPhone and for other devices that are connected (for example, your Apple Watch).
If you prefer to silently discover what percentage of battery your iPhone and other devices have left, there is another way. You can also consult the battery widget. When you swipe right on your iPhone, you’ll see all the widgets you’ve set up. At the top you can search by battery. You then add this widget by tapping the green plus. Then you can drag the battery widget with the icon consisting of three bars.
