Apple’s cheapest Macbook is surprisingly powerful thanks to the M1 processor.
Rens Blom, Aad Munsterman and Jan Poppelier

In fact, it is simply the best Macbook for most users. This model came on the market at the end of 2020. A successor with M2 processor and a renewed appearance is therefore already expected in the second half of 2022.
Older Mac software written for Intel processors is converted by Rosetta 2 into code suitable for Apple’s mobile ARM processors in approximately 20 seconds. You can also run a lot of iPhone and iPad software on this Mac with M1 processor. You cannot expand the working memory later, because the memory and the processor are in the same Systemon-a-Chip. More demanding users can therefore better double the working memory to 16 GB for € 230.
TIP: Buy the cheapest iPad if you think the 13.3 inch screen is too small. Then you have the best of both worlds and you can also use the iPad as a second screen for your Mac.
