FIFA recently released an app that allows you to watch live football matches.

At the time of writing, about 1,400 are streamed per month. The app is not only limited to the live streams of matches, but has additional content. First of all, there are images from the past, which you can view via the archive function. You will also find informative videos and documentaries.
In the separate Match Center section you will see an overview of all competitions. You can filter on popular matches, but you can also request an overview of all matches that are live at that time. The news section has international football news.
Other elements will follow in due course, such as games, polls and quizzes. You can use the app for free. For the time being, the revenues are generated by advertisements.
Keep in mind that not all matches end up in the app. Important matches with a large audience are still made available by other networks (after they have paid hefty license costs).
