Why is the ‘touch sensor’ of our lamp not responding to me?

I have an LED light with an ‘on/off’ touch sensor for the chart table on the boat. It’s the second because I sent the first one back because it didn’t work, I thought. I thought the same about the second lamp, but now it turns out that the lamp works perfectly when my wife touches it. It never works for me.

Is there something wrong with me?

Answer

Dear Luc

Switching on and off requires a little guidance. There won’t be anything wrong with you, but maybe you’re not making enough electrical contact. This can be either on your hands or on your feet (contact with the earth). Try without shoes or try with slightly damp hands. With a few tests you will quickly find out where your problem is.

Kind regards
