Will it ever be possible to make a laser sword, with all the properties of a laser but whose light stops and the energy can injure someone?

Answer
No, you can’t stop the light. But a laser can be strong enough to injure someone. High power lasers can cut steel sheets. But those things consume so much energy that they are not portable.
We should one day write a book with all the scientific inaccuracies that appear in books and movies.
