Would it be possible to charge ordinary (“non-rechargeable”) alkaline AA batteries using a suitable charger? You can see one of these at http://www.cuttingedgeconsumerproducts.co.uk/evercharge_battery_charger.php.
But would this actually work, and does that pose a risk?

Answer
Dear Timothy,
That usually doesn’t work, or at best very limited. An ordinary battery works on the basis of a chemical reaction that uses up the elements and is therefore not reversible. You will have to use rechargeable batteries.
