If we use all manure from agriculture, how much biogas and megawatt are we talking about?

Is the above statement possible? Can the manure still be used after the harvest, for example?

Answer

if one wants to make biogas from manure or organic waste, in the first place organic compounds are converted into methane. The main and trace elements that are important for plant nutrition do not disappear, so the remainder that remains after fermentation is certainly still high-quality material to be used for fertilization.

However, all organic waste streams are not easy to ferment. The biggest problem, however, is transportation. It is usually much cheaper to bring these flows directly to the agricultural plots. In itself, much more biogas could be produced, but this would also entail an incredible amount of extra transport. That is why it is very important to also take into account the costs of this transport and also the environmental impact of this transport. That is why it is impossible to put a number on the potential amount of energy because the largest part can never be used profitably and sustainably.
