Answer

As far as I know, the Asian ladybird (Harmonia axyridis) has no allergic reaction to humans. The animal feeds mainly on aphids (like all ladybugs), but can also eat larvae of other ladybugs as well as caterpillars and butterfly eggs. More information can be obtained under http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veelkleur_iaanse_lieveheersbeestje. The animal is indeed on the rise in our country and is being reported more and more.
