Dear Tim,
Some laptops can withstand water better than others, but a damp cloth usually never hurts. If necessary, make sure that no water drops (real drops) come between the keys. Then leave it open for a while so that everything can dry nicely. Normally you can also use a soft soap, but that is not recommended because you have to be able to “rinse” soap afterwards and that is a lot more difficult with a laptop.
Conclusion: a damp cloth and good “frotting” 🙂
