In a stepper motor, an electronic control is used that delivers pulses to the coils that are built around it, and this in a well-defined way. Every time a current pulse passes through the coils of the motor, a small rotation is realized.
The speed (speed) of the motor therefore depends on the control. In principle, within the working range of the designed stepper motor, the speed is constant, independent of the load, as long as the control generates pulses in the same rhythm.
